The Area

The Lake

Sproat Lake, commonly misspelled Sprout Lake, is a fresh water lake that reaches temperatures of 80 degrees F in the summer. It has four different arms that can provide you with water as smooth as glass, no matter how busy it is or how hard the wind blows.

All four arms have large mountains that come right down into the lake for the most spectacular scenery that you have ever seen.

Water Skiing, Wake Boarding, Wake Surfing and tubing are all popular water sports on the lake. There is usually a wake boarding competition every August at the Sproat Lake Watersports Association on Sterling Arm.

Taylor Arm is the longest arm of the lake and only has cabins on the North side of the lake, along hwy 4. There is a great rope swing close to the junction of all four arms, on the south side. There you can swing off the rocks into the water.

Two Rivers Arm is the most remote arm and cabins there are boat access only. At the end of Two Rivers you will find a great place to jump off the cliffs. This is a daily run for us every afternoon. Beautiful, beautiful area.

Fishing in Sproat Lake is great with an abundance of Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout as well as Sockeye Salmon. You are not allowed to keep the Cutthroat or Sockeye.
